Plan your visit to Yitpi Yartapuultiku

Everything you need to know about a visit to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre located in the heart of Port Adelaide.

Address and operating hours

Yitpi Yartapuultiku, the Aboriginal Cultural Centre, is located at 1300 Old Port Road, Port Adelaide. The site is on the corner of Old Port Road and Bower Road and is located just 2 km northwest of the Port Adelaide town centre.

Entry to the building, riverside grounds and inaugural exhibition is free, and no advance booking is required for general admission.

A printed, easy‑to‑follow self‑guided map is available at the Welcome Desk. The map leads you through sculpture, story points and quiet lookouts. Allow anywhere from one to three hours, depending on how long you wish to linger by the water or in the gallery space.

The grounds are open from dawn to dusk every day.  The Centre building and gallery are open:

10am – 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 2pm weekends and public holidays (excluding Christmas and New Year period, and Easter long weekend.)

Car parking

Visitor parking is free. The main carpark offers 75 standard bays, four accessible bays, and dedicated set‑down zones for taxis and rideshare vehicles and buses.

On event days our overflow parking area, 400 metres north on Semaphore Road, is clearly sign‑posted.

Disability access and inclusion

The centre is wheelchair accessible throughout, with lift access to mezzanine areas and an accredited Changing Places facility.

Most outdoor paths meet access‑grade standards. A small number of shoreline tracks are steeper or unsealed and may require assistance.

Assistance animals are welcome, but other pets must remain on a leash outdoors.
